Izložba “The Evil Spirit” Edwarda Paula Quista otvorena u Galeriji Lamparna

U Galeriji Lamparna (Labin) 6. lipnja otvorena je izložba “The Evil Spirit” američkog umjetnika Edwarda Paula Quista, poznatog pod imenom embryoroom. Riječ je o prvom samostalnom predstavljanju ovog autora u Labinu, nakon ranije izložbe “The Future is Dead” u Puli.

U fokusu izložbe je istoimeni audiovizualni rad, snažne distopijske poetike, koji kroz suradnju s arhitektonskim dizajnerom Paulom Stainom prerasta u ambijentalnu instalaciju. Kroz simboliku i snažne vizualne kodove, autor istražuje odnos čovjeka, stroja i kontrole – u svijetu kojim upravlja Zli duh, entitet na granici nadnaravnog i tehnološkog.

Ulaz slobodan.

The Evil Spirit by Edward Paul Quist Opens at Lamparna Gallery

On June 6th, 2025, Lamparna Gallery (Labin) opened the exhibition The Evil Spirit by American artist Edward Paul Quist, also known as embryoroom. This marks the artist’s first solo presentation in Labin, following his group exhibition The Future is Dead held earlier this year in Pula.

At the heart of the exhibition is the eponymous audiovisual work, a piece of intense dystopian poetics that expands into a spatial installation through a collaboration with architectural designer Paul Stein. Using symbolic and visually charged language, the work explores the relationship between humanity, technology, and systems of control – in a ficworld governed by the Evil Spirit, an entity that exists somewhere between the supernatural and the technological.

Edward Paul Quist / embryoroom has been active on the international scene for over two decades. His works have been exhibited at institutions including MoMA PS1, Kunsthalle Wien, and the Sónar Festival

The exhibition remains open until June 26th, 2025, on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is free.
